Belay Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer to join our intel team. We are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) Integration Software Engineer to join our full stack AI team. This role is ideal for early-career professionals who excel at problem-solving, demonstrate a passion for continuous learning, and can effectively collaborate in a team environment. Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing and implementing RAG systems, with a focus on vector database integration and optimization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop user-friendly interfaces for RAG applications using Python, JavaScript and modern web frameworks.
  • Contribute to the creation and management of shared collections, ensuring efficient data retrieval and organization.
  • Participate in code reviews, sharing your ideas and learning from experienced team members, particularly in JavaScript and UI development.
  • Engage in continuous learning about RAG, NLP, vector databases, and related fields, applying new knowledge to ongoing projects.
  • Help with testing and quality assurance of RAG systems, UI components, and vector database integrations.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, improving your ability to communicate complex concepts related to RAG and vector databases clearly.
  • Actively participate in team discussions, offering fresh perspectives on UI/UX design for RAG applications.
  • Actively participate in customer interactions infrequently to gather product requirements.

Candidates should have the following qualifications: 
  • TS/SCI Clearance with polygraph
  • 3 yrs., B.S. in a technical discipline or 4 additional yrs. in place of B.S.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, particularly in data structures and algorithms
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them effectively
  • Basic understanding of machine learning, natural language processing, and vector database concepts
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and experience with modern web development frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js)
  • Familiarity with UI/UX design principles for data-intensive applications
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts related to RAG and vector databases to various audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Curiosity and passion for AI technology, particularly in RAG systems and their business applications

Candidates are desired to have the following skills:
  • Internship or project experience demonstrating problem-solving with vector databases or RAG systems
  • Familiarity with vector database systems (e.g., Pinecone, Faiss, Milvus)
  • Basic understanding of large language models and their integration with vector databases
  • Experience with or interest in optimizing shared collections for efficient data retrieval
  • Contributions to open-source projects or personal coding projects showcasing JavaScript-based UI development for data-intensive applications
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and GraphQL for connecting front-end applications to back-end services

Salary Range: $70,000 to $190,000
